Rémy HYSBERGUE - Sidereals 1
Featured works
Press release
Galerie Richard in Paris presents Rémy Hysbergue’s third solo exhibition entitled «Sidérales», new acrylic paintings on velvet, from October 29 to January 14 2023. The new paintings are characterized by a greater brightness coming from large spaces of white. He enlarged his motifs and invested larger frames. His new works also involve greater risk-taking in compositions. He likes to start from an unbalanced and unlikely composition and find the answers to find a subtle balance. It is a mature work of a painter who plays with dexterity the multiple possibilities of application of acrylic on canvas and the infinite freedoms of representation of spaces in painting.
Thick blocks of acrylic in three dimensions, deposits of light traces of large brushes and their superpositions, airbrush with which he brings light and an impression of relief all fictitious, Rémy Hysbergue multiplies the techniques of painting (Rémy Hysbergue likes to say that he paints the painting) with an unparalleled dexterity to offer a strong visual pleasure to the people who face his works.
Rémy Hysbergue does not allow himself to be locked in any system. Just as balanced in an all-over paint as in a sober paint with three brush strokes. He is just as comfortable with a monochrome paint as with a paint containing a wide spectrum of colors, such as colors fluorescent on black background. His refined paintings reach a maturity and therefore they express and share his true pleasure of mastering the possibilities of expression of his medium.
Remy Hysbergue participated in the collective exhibition entitled «Painting: deprogrammed obsolescence» at the Musée d’Art Moderne et Contemporain aux Sables d’Olonne from October 17 to January 16, 2022, and his paintings were presented on the exhibition entitled Painting: deprogrammed obsolescence – Free licenses” at the Saint-Roch Hospice Museum in Issoudun from February 11 to May 8, 2022.
